We enter Kholtar, which is being burned by Yasmin riding Ifrit

• We find her burning what looks to be a library or a building full of papers
• She’s a high elf
• Her eyes appear to be pale and milky white
• “This isn’t what I want, stay out of this place or you’ll end up as a target as well.”
• Ifrit = Bat thingy
• She’s Yasmin

We allow her to escape, and she said we could meet later and talk. She flew towards the south/southwest.

The centaurs said that they encountered her several months ago here in Kholtar. The centaurs apparently built scaffolding down to the rift, where the townsfolk’ footsteps go.

We search the town and find the 5 Virtues religious tract for Al Sadien. Lucas Blanc is some sort of prophet for them. We also find confiscated letters that were taken from people - they mention the “time for ascension” and that a single family escaped into the Shaar (mother, father, and a small child).

Imogen gets psychic damage while using magic to see what happened as folks were leaving (they were leaving happily and in an orderly manner) but one figure had a bright white light (?) that caused the damage to Imogen - it was like something blocking her from seeing him.

We inspect the scaffolding into the rift below. We see four lines in the sand that look like people just walked into the lake. We get a weird feeling when we get close to the scaffolding - a bit muddle-brained. Neci sets the top of the scaffolding on fire.

We return to Ahevar to heal up. We each donate money (90gp each) for the Ehlonna’s Infusions. [added to Money & Inventory]

We then go to Tannis to report back the next morning. We ask about the small family (that escaped Kholtar) to see if they ever came to Ahevar - Tannis said that a destitute family of wood elves went north with a different group of centaurs towards Kholtar, where they were promised food and shelter (by the cult). The family’s name was Affen. The father was crippled by a monster attack. Hopefully they don’t have tentacles coming out of their chest….
