Yantu, aka "The Speaker"

• A stand of trees moved closer to the Ahevar city gates while we were there. They were sent (by “the speaker”) to kill us - he told them where to find us. The trees asked Teagan to remove his voice so that “they” cannot command the trees - they being pale-robed creatures? (Session 6/2/2024)
• Intel from Talmet: There is a tree singer who they call the speaker - he has dark skin and his short, and he plays some stringed instrument. Dwarf? The tree ent says Chimali looks like the speaker. The speaker made a building in the forest where they sometimes stay, but they travel frequently and quickly. (We’ve seen this hut in the forest). Teagan remembers a dwarven fellow that came to Riftwood where they have the Strain (fey song). The fellow had been there a year and had not been drawn away by the fey song, so Teagan thought he was okay. He was asking to learn to become a tree singer in Rethmar. Unfortunately he disappeared into the forest and headed south. His name was Yantu and he had traveled north for an apprenticeship at the Prestige. Is Chimali’s cousin! The tree ent says that Yantu is probably being controlled. (Session 6/23/2024)
